Satisfied
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Product works as expected, set up easily and has continued to preform satisfactorily. My usage does not challenge a monitor and I am not a computer guru so I can’t attest to the fine differences in monitors. Delivery was as promised and the unit arrived safely.

Dual
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I bought two of these to run in a dual monitor configuration. Product performs well. I really like being able to have two pc’s plugged into one monitor and switch back easily from the front controls. I have a Samsung 20″ at the office which is very comparable to these HP’s.
Only thing I don’t care for is the high glossy screen, picks up more light than I’d like…but can live with it.

Love it! Works great with Windows Vista!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
When I upgraded my camera, my old monitor froze up and said NO Way…I needed a higher quality monitor! After reading tons of reviews and comparison shopping for price, I ordered the HP 2009M 20 inch HD LCD Monitor from Amazon. It was by far the best quality for the money. It arrived in just a few days and only took a few minutes to set up with Windows Vista by going to the HP site and downloading a driver. My photos and videos are vivid and clear! The built in speakers aren’t bad either for general use. It adjusts easily and look so sleek on my work desk. I totally love it!

Great monitor, great price

I like the quality of the image….great for watching movies, etc. I use external speakers so can’t comment on the sound quality. A really good monitor — highly recommended.

for your viewing pleasure . . .
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I needed a monitor for my new HP desktop, and wanted a high definition 20″ widescreen. I chose this one, mainly because of cost and brand. Initially I wasn’t too impressed by the sharpness of the picture, or the general look of the colors, but after I set the monitor at the optimum resolution of 1600 x 900, and color calibrated it, things got better. Be sure to check the HP website to make sure you have the latest drivers.
The built-in speakers are a nice feature, but the output level is very low. For any serious listening you will need to get some external speakers. You can adjust the viewing angle, but not the height of the monitor. The setting adjustment buttons are located along the bottom of the front edge of the monitor, hidden from view. This works esthetically, but a clunky menu design makes it a bit of an adventure adjusting the settings.
Widescreen movies in particular, look more impressive on a wider screen, although the image quality and resolution of this monitor is like most other computer monitors, vastly inferior to that of a typical television for viewing DVD’s. Working on documents on the widescreen is very nice, especially if you are nearsighted or presbyopic, and have trouble making out text. Just crank the zoom up. Many webpages display better on a widescreen, you still have to pan around, but not as much. You have more room to work in applications like Photoshop, where saving a few keystrokes here and there, can add up and be significant over time.
Even with a few shortcomings, this is a very nice unit, with very good performance. Competitively priced, I have no reservations in recommending it.

Great monitor for the price
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
A good deal nice quality but two big negatives:
1) No HDMI input
2) It does 720p resolution not full HD 1080p
If you do not care about these two issues it is a good deal.
Also I do not use the speakers I have external ones so I cannot comment on the monitor’s spearker quality.

I can see clearly now !
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I had a perfectly good working 17″ Gateway Flatscreen which came with the system, but somehow I couldn’t get the screen bright enough to be able to watch movies or play games that are shot in the dark (night or dark scenes)without getting my rear-end shot to shreds!
I won’t repeat what good things others have already said about this monitor, but with me … the difference is between night and day. Like I said … I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW!
I also love the fact that the screen is wide enough that I can display two things at once (side by side) and still be able to work comfortably.
Some examples of what you can do with displaying things side by side:
1) Cut or Copy and paste: You want to copy something from your email, web page … etc. You can easily flip from one side to the other and accomplish that function.
2) There are times when I’m composing something in my word processor and have to reference something in my bank account. By displaying both side by side, I can do it easily without having to rely on my memory to remember the data that I need to include in the document I am composing. Eliminates a lot of errors!
3) How about just re-arranging things in your computer: i.e. dragging things from one file folder/drive to another? The drag and drop method works well for this!
4) BEST OF ALL !! I can watch a movie on one side of my screen while I work on the other side … Way Cool!
The monitor is near perfect, not too wide that it takes up the whole desk and not too small where I have to squint to see things.
One IMPORTANT thing to remember though before purchasing this MONITOR (or any other NEW monitor) if you have an old system. Make sure that the video/graphics card you have in your system is CAPABLE of taking advantage of what this monitor has to offer. An example of this is being able to view the screen in the 1600 x 900 mode or using the digital DVI connector.
There’s an old saying in the copy industry “Garbage in Garbage out!”, Which means that if you are trying to copy illegible material, don’t expect the copier to suddenly make it legible. So if you have a crummy graphics card to begin with, don’t expect this monitor to greatly enhance your viewing pleasure. And of course visa versa. i.e. if you have a crummy monitor and buy the greatest super duper video card. You’ll just be wasting your money!

Great Monitor, Poor Audio.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
It is a great monitor for the price. No doubt you get your money’s worth. However, the audio is poor, very low level. You just keep reaching for the external speakers you hopped were made obsolete.

Great monitor at a great price.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This monitor is worth every penny. The HD clarity is outstanding. At 20″, the monitor allows viewing most documents and spreadsheets without having to scroll left and right. Having some visual difficulty after recent medical treatments, this monitor has been amazingly helpful to me.

Very good, and good value, but not perfect
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I finally replaced my CRT monitor with this LCD wide-screen monitor.
I was VERY pleased at how easy it was to set up. And I was pleasantly surprised to see how much more I could see on those many websites which are set up for a wide screen. If you have a “square” monitor now, be warned that the height of a new wide-screen model may not be more than your current monitor.
I was sorry I did not get the slightly larger version. (I had measured carefully, and made a conscious choice to go slightly smaller, but if I had it to do over again, I’d get the larger one!)
Very nice looking. It tilts. I don’t notice any reflections on the screen, in spite of having both a window directly opposite the screen, and ceiling lights above and in front of the screen.
Disappointments were that the contrast (or maybe the depth of color?) seemed less than with my CRT. I fiddled around to get larger icons. In the end, I also gave up on using any picture as background on the desktop and went for a plain blue screen, which made the icons easier to see.
The other reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the limited amount of physical adjustment to the screen. The most notable lack is the inability to raise or lower it. Frankly, the tilt adjustment is enough for me (and you ARE supposed to look DOWN at your monitor), but some might find it frustrating.
This monitor did what I wanted. It freed up desk space and is much easier for me to move by myself, without help. Overall, a winner.

good but not for a 2006 macbook
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I like the monitor. The only gripe I have is that it does not hook up to my 2006 macbook (and i can’t yet figure out why), but it works really well for a 2009 Acer Aspire One (it’s intended partner).
